When John first came to see me, my father was so excited. I specifically asked him not to drink but he was drunk when we arrived anyway lol. My father was brave to deal with things when he was in the spirit of ginebra or beer. He wasn't shy to entertain John even if it meant that I had to translate what he wanted to tell him. He helped us get ready with the things we need for us to get marry on John's second visit. Unfortunately he did not make it till our wedding, he died the day on our arrival in Bicol. It was tragic and still painful for me but I have to accept that maybe it's meant to be. I miss you Papa!

sad to think na your dad wasn't able to witness your wedding. just like my father. he cannot go to the courthouse when rodney and I got married, may sakit na kasi siya non, so umiiyak siya when we were leaving.
lucky tayo sa ating mga in laws, di man kami super close ng mga FIL ko kasi ang mga MILs ko eh baka mag selos, hehehe..mababait naman sila sa akin and I believe that I proved to them na di naman nagkamali ang anak nila sa pagpakasal sa akin. oh di ba?
God is so good. When you lost your father, He gave you a very kind and considerate father in law whom you respect so much and whom you and John look up to as a positive role model. It probably warms your heart every time you see those nostalgic photos in your possession. They bring back fondest memories that will never be erased from your mind. Thanks for the nostalgic post. God bless you all always.
