To the non-Filipino readers, Manok is the tagalog term we use for chicken. This dish is called Adobadong Manok, a dish that is cooked in a coconut milk with Papaya or Chayote squash, lemon grass, onion, garlic, and seasoning. We usually smoked a newly scraped coconut meat before we squeezed out the milk but since I only used the coconut milk in can here, I did not do that process. There are so many Filipino dishes that I am missing but since I can't get the exact products I need here, I the closest thing that is available just to satisfy my cravings. It is also a great way to introduce new dishes to my kids and husband.

I knew what manok was be clicking here! My Grandmother and Grandfather on my dad's side were from Cebu.
My dad makes a chicken stew with ginger, green papaya and canned tomatoes. It is what I crave aside from pansit!
